We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application, Finovate (the “App”), handles your information.
By using Finovate, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
No Required Personal Information
The App does not require you to create an account or provide personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.
Financial Calculations (EMI, SIP, Salary, FD/RD, etc.)
All calculator inputs (amounts, rates, tenures, etc.) are processed locally on your device. These values are not transmitted to or stored on our own servers.
Portfolio, Dashboard, and Auditor Data
Any amounts, labels, or portfolio entries you enter into the App (including data in the Portfolio Manager, Subscription Auditor, or Fee Auditor) are stored locally on your device as part of your app data. We do not operate a backend server for this data.
AI features (Gemini, OpenAI, Perplexity)
Finovate offers optional AI‑powered insights (for example: EMI explanations, SIP insights, Portfolio Analysis, Subscription “Leak” detection, Hidden Fee auditing, and general financial tips). When you use these AI features:
- The text you type, voice input, or images of receipts/documents you upload are sent over the internet to one of the selected AI providers (Google’s Gemini, OpenAI, or Perplexity) in order to generate a response.
- We do not see or store this data on any OneStopTech server; it flows directly from your device to the selected AI provider via secure HTTPS.
- The response from the AI provider is shown in the App and may be cached locally on your device.
- IMPORTANT: You are advised not to include sensitive personal information (such as bank account numbers, PAN, Aadhaar, passwords, or exact addresses) in your questions to AI or in uploaded photos. If you voluntarily include such information in free‑text fields or images, it will be processed by the chosen AI provider under their own privacy policies.
AI API Keys
The App allows you to enter your own API key for AI providers. These keys are:
- Stored only on your device in the app’s local storage (SharedPreferences).
- Used solely to call the selected AI provider’s API from your device.
- Not transmitted to any OneStopTech server and not shared with any third party.
Advertising and Usage Data
The App displays advertisements using Google’s AdMob. AdMob may collect certain device and usage information (such as device identifiers, approximate location, and IP address) to provide and improve advertising. This data collection is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
Permissions
The App may request the following permissions:
- INTERNET: Required to fetch live currency rates, call AI provider APIs, and load ads.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required to send you daily finance tips and tool updates.
- RECORD_AUDIO: Used only when you choose to use voice input for AI questions. Audio is processed via the system recognizer and is not stored by us.
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Max SDK 28) / File Access: Used only if you choose to export results (e.g., sharing a PDF or screenshot). Files are saved temporarily on your device for sharing.
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Used to check connectivity before making network requests.
Third‑Party Services
The App uses third‑party services that may collect information. These services are governed by their own privacy policies:
- Currency Exchange API: Used to fetch the latest exchange rates.
- Google AdMob: Used to display ads.
- AI Providers: Depending on your selection, your queries (text, voice, or image) may be processed by Google (Gemini), OpenAI, or Perplexity. These providers may log requests in accordance with their enterprise terms.
Children’s Privacy
Finovate is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
Data Retention and Security
- All inputs, portfolio entries, and AI keys are stored locally.
- Uninstalling the App or clearing its data will remove all locally stored information.
- While we use secure HTTPS for all network communication, no method of transmission is 100% secure.
