Privacy Policy for StudyTrack

Last updated: 06 January 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how StudyTrack (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application (the “App”).

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, you should stop using the App and uninstall it from your device.

1. Information We Collect

————————-

1.1 Information you enter in the App

– Task and session details: When you create work or study sessions, you may enter information such as task type (for example: Reading, Writing, Revise, Computer), subject or project name, target duration, and optional notes.

– Session timing data: The App tracks how long you spend working and how long you spend on breaks, including per-session totals and daily totals.

– Break reasons: When you pause a session, you may select a break type (for example: Washroom, Tea / Coffee, Other) and optionally enter a custom reason text.

All of this information is stored locally on your device using the device’s local storage mechanisms. We do not automatically transfer this information to our own servers.

1.2 Automatically processed usage information

To provide the dashboard, statistics, and history features, the App processes:

– Total worked time per session and per day

– Total break time per session and per day

– Number of breaks

– Whether a session is idle, running, paused, or completed

This processing happens locally on your device. It is used only to render features inside the App, such as the home dashboard, daily history, and progress views.

1.3 Advertising and third-party data (Google AdMob)

The App uses Google AdMob to display banner and interstitial advertisements. AdMob may automatically collect and process information such as:

– Device and advertising identifiers

– IP address and approximate location

– App usage information related to ads (for example, ad impressions and clicks)

This information is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google’s own privacy policies and terms, and may be used for purposes such as delivering, maintaining, and improving advertising services. We do not have direct access to the raw personal data that AdMob collects.

For more information about how Google uses data from its partners, please see:

1.4 Other technologies used by the App

– Haptic feedback and system sounds: The App uses vibration and system sounds when you start, pause, or stop a session. This does not collect personal data; it only triggers hardware feedback on your device.

– External links: From the About Us screen, the App can open external links (for example, our YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook pages, and the Privacy Policy link) using your device’s browser or relevant apps. Those external services may collect data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

2. How We Use Your Information

——————————

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

– To provide the core functionality of the App, including:

– Creating, editing, and managing study/work sessions

– Tracking work time and break time

– Calculating daily progress against your target hours

– Showing your history and statistics

– To store your preferences and settings (for example, daily target hours and app mode) on your device.

– To display banner and interstitial advertisements via Google AdMob.

– To maintain and improve the App’s performance and user experience.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

3. Data Storage and Retention

—————————–

– Session data, notes, and break history are stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms provided by the operating system (for example, SharedPreferences on Android).

– We do not operate our own backend server for your study/work data. This means we generally cannot access, recover, or delete your local data remotely.

– If you uninstall the App from your device, the locally stored data associated with the App may be removed by the operating system.

Because all task and timing data is stored on your device, retention is controlled by you through your device usage and by deleting sessions from within the App or by uninstalling the App.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

———————————

4.1 Data we share

– We do not share your task names, subjects, notes, or detailed session history with third parties.

– We do not transmit your local study/work data to our own servers.

4.2 Third-party services

The primary third-party service used by the App is Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process information as described in Section 1.3 for advertising and related purposes.

When you tap external links (for example, social media icons), your browser or relevant app will open pages operated by third parties (such as YouTube, Instagram, or Facebook). Any information you provide on those external services is governed by their own privacy policies and terms, not by this Privacy Policy.

5. Children’s Privacy

———————

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information where feasible.

6. Your Choices and Controls

—————————-

Within the App:

– You can choose what information to enter when creating tasks, subjects, and notes.

– You can delete individual sessions from the App, which removes this data from local storage on your device.

– You can adjust your daily target and other preferences in the App’s UI.

On your device:

– You can reset or limit advertising identifiers, or adjust ad personalization settings, in your device’s system settings where supported.

– You can uninstall the App at any time, which may remove associated local data from your device.

Because your core study/work data is stored only on your device and not on our servers, we generally cannot directly respond to access, correction, or deletion requests for that local data. You manage that data through the App and device settings.

7. International Data Transfers

——————————-

We do not intentionally transfer your local study/work data to our own servers. However, third-party services such as Google AdMob may process data in multiple countries and regions.

By using the App, you acknowledge that certain technical and advertising-related information may be processed by Google or other third parties on servers located outside of your country, subject to their privacy policies and applicable laws.

8. Security

———–

We use standard security practices and rely on the operating system’s protection mechanisms to help safeguard data stored on your device. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

You are responsible for:

– Keeping your device and operating system up to date.

– Using device-level security features such as screen locks or encryption where available.

– Controlling who has physical access to your device.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

———————————

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this document.

We recommend that you review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
