Taskz (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed when you use the Taskz mobile application and related services.

**Account Information (for logged‑in users):**

**Task Data:**

We store the tasks you create, including titles, descriptions, due dates, priorities, tags/categories, recurrence settings, reminders, completion status, and any remarks/status updates (for shared tasks).

For shared tasks, we may also store:

– The emails of assignees you choose to share tasks with

– A shared task identifier and original creator information

**Attachments:**

You can attach files (such as images, PDFs, and other documents) to tasks. Taskz stores references/URIs to these files and may store metadata required to access them. The actual files are stored either on your device storage (for local files and backups) or on our servers if needed for synchronization.

**Network and Technical Information:**

When you use the app online, we may collect:

– IP address (stored in encrypted form for security/audit purposes)

– Device model, operating system version, and basic device identifiers

– Log information related to errors (for example, network failures) to help us diagnose issues

**Usage Information:**

We may collect limited information about how you interact with the app (e.g., frequency of use, basic interaction patterns) to maintain service quality and improve features. We do not record the content of your tasks for analytics purposes.

**Push Notification Identifiers:**

To send you in‑app notifications (for example, when a shared task status is updated), we may store push notification tokens (e.g., from Firebase Cloud Messaging or OneSignal) associated with your account.

**Guest Mode Data:**

If you use Taskz without logging in, your tasks and related data are stored locally on your device as “guest” data. This data is not associated with any online account unless you later choose to register and sync.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

**To provide and operate the service:**

– Create and manage your Taskz account

– Store, display, and synchronize your tasks, reminders, and attachments across your devices when you are logged in

– Support shared tasks and team status views

**To support shared tasks and communications:**

– Send task invitations and updates (e.g., via email) to the assignees whose email addresses you provide

– Notify you inside the app (via push notifications) when shared task statuses change or when there are important updates related to your tasks

**To secure and maintain the service:**

– Authenticate your sessions and protect your account

– Detect and prevent abuse, unauthorized access, or misuse

– Log limited technical information (including encrypted IP addresses) to investigate and fix problems

**Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) / OneSignal:**

We may use Firebase Cloud Messaging and/or OneSignal to deliver push notifications, such as reminders or updates about shared tasks. These services receive a push token that identifies your device but do not have direct access to the content of your tasks stored on your device.

## 5. Data Storage, Backups, and Retention

**Local Storage and Auto‑Backups:**

Taskz stores your tasks and related data locally on your device. If you enable backup features, the app may create encrypted backup files in your device’s storage (for example, in your Documents folder or app‑specific storage) so that you can restore your data later. These backups are under your control on your device.

**Cloud Storage (for logged‑in users):**

When you use Taskz with an account and synchronization enabled, your task data (including shared tasks and statuses) is stored on our servers to allow access from multiple devices.

**Retention:**

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the service. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.

We implement reasonable and industry‑standard security measures to protect your information, including:

– Encrypted storage for sensitive data on your device using modern encryption (for example, AES‑based encryption via secure storage mechanisms).
